下年度的奧斯卡最佳外語片的角逐,總共吸引了七十六個國家與地區角逐,有少數作品在香港正式公映,而有一些則散落在各大影展當中,或者是在未來的日子與觀眾見面。有關的最後九強的提名會在來年一月公佈,大致上也可在這七十六部作品找找熱門之選,買定離手。此外,有些國家也第一次派出了作品,比如是巴基斯坦、沙地阿拉伯都獻上了第一次。然而,有機會看過七十六部作品並非易事,的確有些被視為冷門的電影恐怕就無緣與香港觀眾見面了,日後本博有機會再慢談那些被忽視的電影,要花點時間盡量去看。比如是先前本博有介紹過來至尼泊爾的《蘭花之舞》都是代表該國衝奧的,有興趣可以自行拜讀。
要支持奧斯卡的最佳外語片,先要支持一下本地的《一代宗師》,王家衛閉關多年,梁朝偉也跌撞了多次,相信本地的評委選《一代宗師》都是因為王家衛的知名度,再加上影片在北美與國際影展上映的效應。要入九強,相信是有信心的。再看看中國代表,中國派出馮小剛的《一九四二》,而台灣方面《失魂》以一票之差打敗了周杰倫的《天台》,據說《天台》是爛片,取得參賽資格。
亞洲地區方面,有日本的石井裕也的《大渡海》,電影相當溫暖人心,淡淡然的,是清澈的。印度方面則派新導演迎戰,派出公路電影。韓國方面繼上年有《狼族少年》後,今次有《犯罪少年》。而伊朗方面真是遇上勁敵,由《伊朗式分居》導演執導的新片《The Past》參戰,《The Past》也是影展的話題之作,相信入九強,易過借火。同時也不可忽視新加坡代表,陳哲藝的《爸媽不在家》,一舉成名入金馬提名,也得到康城的獎項。
而其他地區方面,影展的話題之作成為了大熱,比如說丹麥的《誣網》(The Hunt),呼聲很高,演員演技精湛。而首次參賽的沙地阿拉伯也一舉成為了大熱之選,其電影WADJDA講述阿拉伯少女的故事,音樂方面有MAX RICHTER的配樂。
至於法國方面,去年派出了《閃亮人生》,今年本應該是話題作《接近無限溫暖的藍》參賽,但由於奧斯卡計的是上映,所以無緣了。結果由《雷阿諾》代表。
七十六部電影的水準難免是參差,最重要是呈現了電影的人文精神,交出一台好戲。對小國電影給予鼓勵與支持,過去的確有不少「遺珠」,我們可以做的是對每一部電影給予尊重,這就是奧斯卡的宗旨。
